Airline strikes are all the rage this week

Air France was nice about it. Strike for several days with a definite end in sight and it didn't affect the entire world, just a few corners of it. And people say the French are rude.

Saturday Quantas announced they would stop all service, everywhere, throughout the universe due to a halted contract negotiation with employees. Not so polite, but to make up for it, they are paying for hotel rooms and refunding every affected passenger. Something to help make the bitter pill for thousands of stranded passengers a bit easier to swallow.
